Fall Festival returns to Northwest Rutland with more Pumpkins, Donuts, and Activities!

Rutland, VT – Come in your Halloween Costume ready to carve pumpkins, paint gourds, and create scary masks to the beat of Monster Mash! NeighborWorks of Western Vermont is bringing back the Fall Festival for its second year at the Community Green Space at 113 Library Ave in Northwest Rutland on Saturday, October 14. The Fall Festival is the perfect opportunity for Rutland residents to get out and celebrate the culmination of a spring, summer, and fall chock full of neighborhood activities.

Pumpkins and gourds of all shapes and sizes will flood the Community Green Space and will be up for grabs for anyone who wants to get their hands dirty scooping out seeds and carving (or painting!) them into Jack-O-Lanterns.

After carving and painting their choice of winter squashes, participants can stroll through the activities booths sponsored by local organizations while munching on donuts and washing them down with apple cider.

Dismas House will have their signature glitter tattoo and face painting booth – be prepared to get transformed into the monster of your choice! The Tapestry program will be leading mask and crown crafting to complete the transformation. After perfecting their costumes, participants can use Rutland Middle School’s “Selfie” photo booth to capture their Instagram-ready appearances.

As the sun sets and the pumpkin-carving winds down around 6 PM, participants are invited to spread out their picnic blankets and pop up their folding chairs to watch Hocus Pocus on an outdoor movie screen. Moviegoers are encouraged to dress warm and bring blankets to snuggle up under!

Pumpkin carving and gourd painting will begin at 4:00 and end at 6:00 PM at 113 Library Ave, Rutland on October 14, weather permitting. The movie will start around 6 PM as the sunset allows. The event is 100% free and open to the entire Rutland community, thanks to the Rutland Promise Community grant to promote Community Building and Engagement events.
