Free Homebuyer Workshop

NeighborWorks and Castleton Downtown to host free workshop for homebuyers

Rutland, Vt. – NeighborWorks and Castleton Downtown will host a free workshop on homeownership options as part of their “Forget the Fluff: Finances for Real Life” series. The workshop will be Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Hop n Moose on Center Street in Rutland.

NeighborWorks HomeOwnership experts will discuss down payment assistance, the cost of renting vs. owning, and how homebuyers can get one-on-one coaching to determine how much they can afford and how to identify the best deal for them.

Gene Felder of NeighborWorks Realty will give advice about how to find the right home, and share some common mistakes and smart strategies in home buying.

The event is free and open to the public, and families are welcome. There will be free pizza for attendees. The workshop will be useful to any homebuyer who wants to take advantage of expert advice as they launch into homeownership. The workshop is free, but space is limited. “Forget the Fluff: Finances for Real Life” is designed to connect recent college grads, aspiring homeowners, young professionals, and entrepreneurs with tools and expertise to invest wisely in their financial futures. The series will continue with a Smart Investing workshop by Steve Morneau of Heritage Family Credit Union on May 14th.
