"Planning Tools to Further Fair Housing in Your Community"

A Production of CCTV, Burlington

NeighborWorks® of Western Vermont has embarked on a
mission to create affordable housing for working Vermonters

NWWVT has entered into a Three Town Planning Grant with the towns of Tinmouth, Middletown Springs, and Shrewsbury; all of which are located in Rutland County.

The grant allows NWWVT to establish a complete housing program model that will help small towns across Vermont develop quality, affordable housing for working families. The model, named Westmont, shows communities from start to finish how to go from simply talking about affordable housing through the process to actually develop, create and construct affordable housing.

NWWVT also participates in the Neighborhood Stabilization Program with Vermont Housing Finance Agency. Vacant foreclosed homes are bought, and fixed up- complete with energy improvements. The homes are sold at no more than the appraised value with covenants protecting the affordability of the home for future buyers. The Neighborhood Stabilization Program is made possible through the State Agency of Commerce and Community Development.

NeighborWorks® of Western Vermont is excited to offer affordable homes to working Vermont families. The mission of NWWVT is to transform lives by promoting safe and affordable housing, focusing on sustainable home ownership. We believe in developing self reliance of the individual through education, counseling, technical and financial services. Together we can build strong communities!
